Granite Stash RCX Multi-Tool Kit

Close-up of a Granite Stash RCX multi tool being inserted into a bike's steerer tube, showcasing the sleek design against a blurred outdoor background.

Your multi-tool, hidden in your fork.

An 8-function folding tool and a spoke key, stored inside your steerer tube. The expander fits round threadless steerers - closed carbon road and gravel forks included. 110 g.

Collection of Granite Stash RCX bike tools displayed on a wooden surface, featuring an orange and black design amidst green foliage.

Description

The Stash RCX hides a folding multi-tool inside your fork steerer, with a spoke key and Presta valve core remover riding alongside. Pull the top cap and the tool lifts out. Nothing to pack, nothing to forget.

Eight functions: 2 to 6 mm hex, T25 and a flat-head, plus a spoke key for 0 to 3 nipples that also removes a Presta core. AL6061 body, 110 g.

An expander replaces the star nut, so it fits round threadless steerers 23.5 to 27 mm across, closed carbon road and gravel forks included. Tapered MTB fork? See the Stash RT.

Eight tools, always on the bike

Eight tools, always on the bike

Pull the top cap and the folding tool lifts out on the expander - 2 to 6 mm hex, T25 and a flat-head, ready before you're off the bike.

A spoke key and valve tool too

A spoke key and valve tool too

The spoke key trues a wheel across 0 to 3 nipple sizes and unthreads a Presta valve core. It rides inside the steerer with the multi-tool.

The Granite Stash RCX kit laid out on white: orange multi-tool, orange tool housing, silver expander plug, an M6 bolt and two hex keys

  Feature

  • Eight-function multi-tool: 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm hex, T25 and a flat-head screwdriver, folded into one CR-V steel tool.
  • Spoke key and valve tool: The spoke key fits 0, 1, 2 and 3 nipples and doubles as a Presta valve core remover. It rides inside the steerer with the multi-tool.
  • Lives in your steerer: The tool sits inside your fork tube on the expander. Pull the top cap and it lifts out, ready to use, and sits flush when it's not.
  • Fits closed carbon forks: The expander replaces the star nut, so forks with no opening at the base of the steerer work too - road, gravel and MTB. It replaces the original Stash Multi-Tool with one expander that fits open and closed steerers alike.
  • Light, machined alloy: AL6061 tube and tool body. The whole kit weighs 110 g and installs without tapping the steerer. Design & Innovation Award 2021.
  • Part of the Stash family: Need spares? The <a href="/products/stash-rcx-replacement">Stash RCX Replacement Tool Set</a> swaps in a fresh multi-tool and spoke key. Got a tapered MTB fork? The <a href="/products/stash-rt">Stash RT</a> fits that instead.
Round threadless steerers, 23.5-27 mm

Round threadless steerers, 23.5-27 mm

The tool body is 23.3 mm across and 100 mm long, so it needs a round steerer with a 23.5 to 27 mm inner diameter and a threadless headset.

Road, gravel and closed carbon forks

Road, gravel and closed carbon forks

The expander replaces the star nut, so forks with no opening at the base of the steerer fit. It sits flush in the stem when you're not using it.

Tapered MTB fork? Use the Stash RT

Inner-tapered forks like the RockShox Pike and Lyrik or Fox 36 and 38 don't take the RCX expander. The Stash RT replaces the star nut and fits those instead.
